Father’s day is around the corner! I don’t know about you, but my dad always seems so much harder to shop for than my mom. Maybe it’s because he really likes the kind of gifts that go vroom when you put gas into them. Or… maybe it’s just that a simple card is really all he needs. Either way, here are some gift ideas for the Dad, Papa-to-be, or father figure in your life!
My dad and I had a nighttime reading ritual when I was growing up. Our early favourites included Chicka Chicka Boom Boom (so much so that I always gift it to little ones!), absolutely anything by Robert Munsch, and of course Roald Dahl. When I was older he read me the entire Anne of Green Gables series, one chapter every night before bed. If he’s into reading on his own as well, my favourite book about a lovable old man is always a good option.
I have a lot of memories of my Dad wearing the exact same jacket from October through April in Ontario, which meant he was the wrong temperature a lot of the time. My mom recently got him this shell, which can be layered for extra warmth, and he totally loves it.
While my mom is definitely the chef in our family, my Dad makes two things REALLY well- pizza and gnocchi. He always uses this pot for sauce, which is heavy duty enough to be “the most manly pot in the house”.
I think my Dad could use some of this shampoo, because he is currently rocking a serious COVID flow, of course at about 90% grey status (he looks like Albert Einstein!). This would be nice for his hair (ours can both get pretty dry) and this version is pretty popular!
Jan isn’t a dad but he is a dude! He’s been into adding plants around the house lately, and this one looks nice! By the way, I also have this jewellery box, and if you’re looking to sneak in a gift for you, I really love it. We’d also both get equal enjoyment from this.
Happy Father’s Day!
