9 Friday Links on Day 9

Today we were supposed to be off to Tofino, so Jan and I converted our vacation to “working light”. We both had a pretty slow morning and then worked through the afternoon. I did telehealth from the kitchen table and he worked from upstairs. We got out for a couple of nice walks in the sunshine, too, which was great. My anxiety levels are moderately high but otherwise things are fine. I’m keeping today’s post mostly COVID-free, like the usual Friday links posts.

My friend Neasa sent over this list of fun things– NONE of which mention the C word!

This weekend I’m making us a batch of chili. I usually adapt this tried and true recipe (I often use turkey but have ground beef in the freezer right now). I might also try these really yummy-looking cookies! This morning I baked my banana bread (I do that at least once a week), so you know, we’re good to go on the carbs front :- )

I downloaded the Headspace app to give meditation a try, because a little more zen would definitely be welcome. Have you tried it? Any tips?

It might be time to add some cozy basics to my work wardrobe.

If you’re looking for something to watch, you should definitely consider getting lost in the Great British Bakeoff! It is delightfully distracting and heart warming. And if you’re looking for an at-home workout to try, this one requires zero equipment!

We also just finished watching Where’d You Go, Bernadette? which is streaming on Amazon and perfectly adventurous, artistic, AND virus-free (bonus! Penguin cameos!). I read the book a few years ago and loved it, too.

Tomorrow we’re having a brunch FaceTime date and I’m going to make us fancy avocado toast with Everything But the Bagel seasoning because I just want to be a millennial for a bit. Might even bust out the milk frother for an almond milk latte!

We had scheduled vacation through to Monday evening for our Tofino trip, and despite being at home I’d like to attempt a mini screen detox. Some house projects I’d like to tackle: pruning the closet again, organizing our winter coats and gear, and maybe figuring out how to re-seed our grass? If you know anything about this, send help.

Speaking of Tofino, we’re definitely planning to reschedule the vacation! I’d love to stay here and go on misty hikes and watch storms roll in! We’d love any Tofino tips if you have them- despite being in BC for five years I’ve never been!

What are you up to? Are you hanging out in any lighthearted corners of the internet? Please share! xo

Long time supporter, and thought I’d drop a comment.

Your wordpress site is very sleek – hope you don’t
mind me asking what theme you’re using? (and don’t mind if I steal it?
    :P)

I just launched my site –also built in wordpress like yours– but the theme slows (!)
the site down quite a bit.

In case you have a minute, you can find it by searching for “royal cbd” on Google
(would appreciate any feedback) – it’s still in the works.

Keep up the good work– and hope you all take care
of yourself during the coronavirus scare!
