I’ve been working on really paring down my wardrobe to include only the things I wear a lot- and decided to set myself a “15 by 15” challenge. I’m going to take the same 15 pieces and show you 15 outfits I’ve worn this month. Hopefully these work for a variety of settings (work, weekend, out) and include a mix of high and low pieces.
I love the idea of a capsule wardrobe for so many reasons. Overall, the sustainability of a system like this is much better than buying lots of fast fashion, or having a huge collection of clothing that you wear less often. For me, it also makes it a lot easier to get dressed in the morning, and means that I spend less $$ on clothes.
I’m showing you 15 real outfits that I wore this month, for everything from work to weekend. I’d love to know if you would give this a try!
I find that I gravitate to neutral colours, which also makes it a lot easier to adopt a capsule approach. I was pretty focused on sweaters since it’s been a really chilly few weeks in Vancouver! The other nice thing about a capsule wardrobe is that you’re allowed to have a few “extras” outside it, as long as you actually use them for their purpose. I have several pairs of running leggings in heavy rotation (for actual running), plus some workout gear that I use for at-home workouts. PJ’s also don’t count!
Here are the links to the pieces I chose- some are similar since my pieces aren’t all new, but I still think they work!
What do you think? Would you try a 15×15? If this is helpful, I’ll keep posting (maybe some months a 10×10?) through the year! As a bonus, I’ve included a few extra accessories below that would work with the capsule, but don’t fit into the challenge.
PS- I’ve also been finding that this approach has made packing easier! Stay tuned for my packing strategy for an upcoming trip Down Under! xo
