After our first look in Stanley Park, Jan and I sealed the deal on the dock of a boathouse on the Fraser River. I’m sharing photos of our ceremony today, if you’d like to see!
We planned a simple ceremony with our officiant and small but mighty wedding party.
Jan’s parents walked him down the aisle (holding hands! My heart!) to “Can’t Help Falling in Love”
I loved being able to see these moments afterward- J looking so excited, our wedding party, our parents!!
Since we were on the dock, we had to walk down a long ramp and of course it’s not every day I have heels and a train and a long veil, so I was worried about tripping! Luckily my Dad had it covered.
Our officiant, Kevin, talked about how we met and fell in love, and a little about our hopes and dreams for the future.
We wrote our own vows, which was simple and personal and absolutely melted me when we were up there reading them.
And then we got the kiss! We didn’t practice beforehand, but I wonder if some people do!
We signed our marriage license with our witnesses, each of our siblings (Jan has one brother and I have one sister).
And just like that we were married! It was the best. xo
Our venue was the UBC Boathouse, and our officiant was Kevin from Designer Ceremonies. Florals by Our Little Flower Company. Arch rented from Sitka Studios. Of course, our photos were taken by our amazing photographer, Christine.
