Friday Links

Whew! This week has flown by. I’m working tomorrow and have lots of charts to sign off, so it will be another busy weekend! In the meantime, here’s what I’ve been reading, watching, and generally enjoying this week!

I read The Futures, by Anna Pitoniak, on my bus rides this week and really loved the way she captured the first-job-first-relationship-first-everything feeling of being in your early 20’s. Yesterday I started When You Read This, by Mary Adkins, and it’s already sucked me in, too.

I’ve been doing a little pre-Black-Friday browsing! I like this sweater for home, this sweater for work (25% off with code STARTEARLY), and these shoes.

Colour me old, but we might also get this freezer– anyone else have a separate freezer in their garage or basement? Thoughts?

We use You Need a Budget (affectionately Y-NAB in our house) to track our spending and saving! I’m thinking maybe a post coming up about our strategy for managing dollars and cents? We’ve also been earning cashback on all our purchases (above what we get from a credit card) with Rakuten!

We’ve been watching the Morning Show and For All Mankind on Apple TV+ (free if you’ve bought an apple product recently) over the past few weeks. Both good but I think my favourite Fall show so far has been Jack Ryan on Amazon Prime- we had to drag ourselves away from the screen! Also Modern Love!

My friend Tina told me about this amazing lawyer/speaker/activist Bryan Sullivan, and the New Yorker piece on him was really worth the read.

On a lighter note, I always love watching Bon Appetit on YouTube (or just listening if I’m puttering around the house) and have been cracking up at the @NYTimescookingcomments on instagram.

A sweet patient brought me this awesome chocolate bar from the UK to try, and between that and my steady supply of cookie butter (speculoos paste!) from my in-laws, I’m set with sugar for the rest of 2019!

What about you? Any plans for the weekend?
